🪄 Wizard's tip

Mix ages in each team and give every event a 'best effort' award. Everyone goes home with a medal and nobody sulks.

How to do it

  1. Split into teams with team names.
  2. Run events: sponge relay, cup-on-head race, frozen T-shirt race, squirt gun targets, water slide.
  3. Keep score on a chalk board.
  4. Medal ceremony on the podium.

Younger kids: Short, simple events with prizes for everyone.

Older kids: Let them run the scoreboard, design medals and referee events.

⚠ Safety Stay within arm's reach of under-5s around any water, even a bucket. Empty buckets and paddling pools straight after play. Play before 10am or after 4pm on hot days, with hats, sunscreen and water bottles.
